The International Conference on Surfaces, Coatings
and Nanostructured
Materials, NanoSMat, will take place during
9-11 July 2007 at the ”°Hotel Pestana
Alvor Beach”± in Algarve, Portugal. Some
of the key features of this special event
include the following:
1. Keynotes:
There will be three keynote speakers:
•Nobel Laureate Professor Sir H. W. Kroto
(USA)
•Professor Stan Veprek (Germany)
•Professor Jeff- De Hosson (Netherlands)
2. Invited lectures:
There will be a host of internationally known
speakers talking about various
aspects of nano-related cutting edge research.
On confirmation, names of invited
speakers will be added to the conference website.
3. Exhibition
Similar to NanoSMat2005, there will be a exhibition
during the conference days.
4. Short courses
There will be three short educational courses
running in parallel on 8 July

5. Publications
After peer-reviews, papers presented at the
conference will be published in a
special issue of ”°Journal of Nanoscience
and Nanotechnology”±
NanoSMat will cover all research and application
aspects relating to latest
development and discoveries in nanomaterials,
nanotechnology, materials
processing, characterization, testing, and evaluation.
Last years event
(www.mec.ua.pt/icscnm), NanoSMat2005, attracted
over 200 participants from
all over the world. This year, we are expecting
around 400 participants to attend.
We believe that this is a good opportunity

to the researchers/speakers in this
region and from the rest of the world.
